'Rest'

A larger piece standing at 20x22" this original has been inspired by the beautiful Porthgain, Pembrokeshire and has a wealth of energy. 
As one of my more expressive pieces, 'Rest' has layers of finer texture - sands from the Gower Peninsula, finely ground wood from fallen ancient trees and Munro earth. The ocean in this piece has an overwhelming  movement that gives it a stormy atmosphere.. yet the bright blues creeping between those wind whipped clouds are a sign of brighter days to come. 

Sheltering in its safe harbour, two fishing boats rest patiently after a day on the heavy tides.
