Inspired by the dramatic coastline that surrounds Iceland, Strönd has a fierce and frozen energy. While the vast majority of the canvas is ocean, there is a densly textured outcrop of Icelandic rock - weather worn and raw to the touch. Created using ground Mussel shells, sands, tree root and the wood from a fallen ancient oak, this original has a wonderful balance of textures. 
Translating from Icelandic as 'Coast', 'Strönd' offers a bird's eye view of the rugged shoreline locked in its wintry embrace with the North Atlantic.
