The second in the 'Element' edition, this smaller but no less dramatic original has a multitude of layers. Using the newest of my natural pigments, 'Water' has a thick covering of Mussel shell which overlays sections of 'wild charcoal'.
Soils from the coast of the Gower Peninsula and ground root from fallen ancient trees give 'Water' an undeniable energy. Mixing these beautiful pigments with phthalo blue hues, snowy whites and greys has produced a sense of turbulence - a dramatic and energetic ocean scene.
Arching around the top of 'Water' is a thick vein of genuine 22carat Latin Gold.
